Jupiter Transit – 2012
It is again the time of the annual transit of Jupiter and the analysis of its results for 12 Rashis. Jupiter will transit from Aries to Taurus on 17th May 2012 and it will remain in Taurus for about a year, till 31st May 2013 to be precise. In Vedic Astrology, Jupiter is regarded as the most auspicious planet among all the 9 planets, because of its abilities to bestow all that is good for a generous and respectful life. Jupiter is Guru or Teacher of Devatas and been conferred the title of “Devaguru”. He is the most auspicious and benefic planet. However, this does not imply or mean that He does not do any harm or damage. When Jupiter is malefic, it gives nothing but fear and tears. Interpretation I have been flooded with request to write about the art of transit interpretation as people are not satisfied with general results which are given for each Rashi. I might warn the readers that interpretation of transit results is not that easy and it is a intricate / complex process involving several factors. Therefore I am giving the methodology of the process of reading the results taking one sample case and the readers are advised to adopt / modify the same for their specific chart. Workout the following to assess the goodness / evil nature and potency of Jupiter in your individual charts, by going through the following steps. 1. Identify your Janmarashi. 2. There are 12 ascendants and therefore Jupiter will have Lordship of two of the houses out of the twelve. 3. Out of the two lordships, both can be good / one bad & one good. Jupiter, wherever he is posited in dual houses will favour that house. For e.g. Jupiter for Leo Lagna will be 5th & 8th Lord and posited in Sagittarius will favour 5th house and accordingly give more results of 5th house. 4. Then we have to see Jupiter’s placement in the chart, viz. placed in Own House / Friend’s House /Enemy House / Exalted / Debilitated / retrograde. 5. Aspects and associations on / with Jupiter 6. Yogas formed by Jupiter. 7. Strength / Shadbala of Jupiter. 8. Check if Jupiter has any Veda (Obstruction) 9. Note down the Dasha / Bhukti running for you during the transit. Overriding Clause 1. Reference Point: The reference or starting point for Transit prediction is the Janmarashi or the sign in which the Moon is posited in the natal chart. There are many astrologers who advocate interpretation with reference to Lagna or Ascendant but the classical texts recommend using Janmarashi only. 2. Dasha and Bhukti: Whatever interpretation we arrive at using above method must be supported by the Dasha and Bhukti currently running for the native. If the Dasha and Bhukti is not favourable then the results thus predicted may not come true. Sample Case Rashi Chart Transit Chart – 18 May 2012
1. Lagna –Scorpio. Jupiter is Lord of 2nd & 5th Houses. Both houses are good.
2. Jupiter is Retrograde & Debilitated in 3rd House. In Enemy’s house with Retrograde Saturn (Lord of the house)
3. Janmarashi is Aries
4. Shadbala of Jupiter is the least, 74 amongst all the planets.
5. In present transit the native will have Jupiter in 2nd house basically indicating acquisition of wealth. This also indicates improvement in health and cordial relationship with near and dear ones. This also indicates that good things will happen to his kith and kin and his children.
6. Wealth from where, how and from whom and how much?
7. Jupiter being 2nd & 5th Lord, it will be self earned and /or from his issues. Basically it will be from the Karakatwas of those houses.
8. Jupiter posited in 3rd house also indicate that wealth can be from co-born or through courage and communication. Jupiter’s association with Saturn also indicates the wealth may be from Service.
9. The quantum will not be much because Jupiter is debilitated and has no strength.
10. The acquisition will also be erratic since he is retrograde. This will be compounded when transit Jupiter turns retrograde.
11. The result is also dependent on Saturn transit position which at the moment (6th form Natal Moon) is favourable. But when Saturn shifts to Libra on 04 Aug 2012, he will become unfavourable.
12. When Jupiter is in 2nd house Veda point in 12th. However no planet is posited there and hence there is no Veda. If there is Veda, his benefic character will be further reduced.
13. Native has started his Jupiter Mahadasha on 26 Jan 2012 and will have Jupiter Bhukti till March 2014 and therefore whatever Transit results are arrived at is being supported by Dasha & Bhukti.
14. We can reasonably conclude that Transit predictions will hold good.
Conclusion
People for whom Jupiter is in unfavourable position need not despair. Jupiter being the most benefic planet will normally not harm any native unless he is highly afflicted. As stated earlier Jupiter is the promoter par excellence, and we wish that all mankind receive his blessings for peace and harmony.
Propitiating Lord Shiva on Mondays and Thursdays and reciting following Mantras will mitigate difficulties.

How to relate Janma Sani aspect while studying Jupiter transit?

Aspects are considered in Rashi chart only. We do not consider aspects in Divisional Charts (Eg. Navamsha, Dashamsha etc.) and Transit charts.Therefore correlating (aspect) Janma Shani with transit Jupiter is not correct.
Interpretation of Saturn Transit results have to be done separately similar to the one I have described for transit Jupiter.

I am sorry I used a wrong word aspect. Here in this case I mean as the issue of Janma Sani. If Jupiter transit is favorable also to what extent it can negate the adverse effect of Janma Sani.

As I understand, you are referring to adverse Saturn in natal chart and how Jupiter’s transit will nullify its effect?
With this premise I am writing the following.
Jupiter is the biggest benefic planet and if posited in Lagna can cancel thousands of Doshas.If Jupiter is the lord of Lagna,2nd, 5th,7th, 9th and 11th and posited in good houses is considered strong in the chart. Therefore his transit effects will also be good.
Apart from Dasha / Bhukti, the effects of transit of Saturn will be bad if Saturn is bad for you in the chart.
The extent of cancellation of bad effects of Janma Saturn by transit Jupiter will solely depend on Jupiter’s strength as said earlier.
Remember that prevailing Dasha & Bhukti will override any effect of transit if it differs from those predicted by former.

For Aquarius Asc, Jupiter is 2nd & 11th Lord, both good houses. Jupiter posited in Asc, house of Saturn who is neutral to Jupiter.
You have not mentioned about any aspects, conjunction and Shadbala of Jupiter. In present transit Jupiter is in Janmarashi, Taurus.
Basically it is an unfavourable position affecting health and increasing expenditure. The persons who get affected are, yourself (Jupiter in Asc), near relatives (2nd Lord) and elder brother (11th Lord).
You have also not mentioned what Bhukti you are running in Jupiter Mahadasha. This has a bearing on whatever little gains you may accrue because of Jupiter being the Danadhipathi and Labadhipathi.
Assuming that your Dasha & Bhukti are favourable, the present transit may not harm you much.
I always urge people to be cautious and take care of their health and wasteful expenditure.

With Jupiter being the most benevolent benefic͵ my doubt is why the above Gayatri is less popular than the one that is commonly referred to as the Gayatri mantra?
Gayathri (Sanskrit: गायत्री, gāyatrī) is the feminine form of gāyatra, a Sanskrit word for a song or a hymn. The Gayathri mantra referred by me in the article is a hymn in praise of Guru or Jupiter and should not be confused with universal Gayathri Mantra which is in praise of the Creator
So, the two words “Gayathri Mantra” might be translated as “a prayer of praise that awakens the vital energies and gives liberation and deliverance from ignorance

Jupiter is your 2nd & 5th Lord, both houses being good houses.But he is Retro and therefore will give erratic results in his Dasha. Venus is 7th & 12th Lord for you and therefore will generally act negatively during his period.You have not mentioned where is Venus posited.
In transit Jupiter is in 8th (wrt Moon in Libra)and will cause difficulties in your finance and health (self + Children), litigation,etc. You are also running Sade-Sathi and caution is advised on health front.

For Dasha – Bhukti prediction, Jupiter & Venus are in 1-7 position and therefore should normally give favourable results.However, Venus is 7th and 12th Lord posited in Leo, rank enemy’s house may create some problems in your profession.

1.Yes there is Neechabahnga for Jupiter.
2.Your health is bad because of ‘Sade Sathe’
3.Ketu Maha Dasha will bring lot of difficulties in profession.

1. Jupiter in 3rd house, not a favourable position.
2. Saturn in 8th house, not a favourable position.
For adverse Jupiter,please read the ‘Coclusion’ part of main article.
For adverse Saturn , propitiate Shani on Saturdays and light ‘Til’ lamps.
Please check your Dasha& Bhukthi, if it is good, distress may be mitigated.

For Kanya Lagna, Guru is 4th & 7th Lord but carries ‘Kendradhipatya’ Dosha. As per BPHS, planets carrying KD, normally do not give favourable results, even if exalted.You say Guru is retro and therefor we can expect erratic results.
In transit, Guru is in ‘Janma Rashi’ and being 4th & 7th Lord, the resultant effects will be on your general happiness/Mother,property/estate/
vehicle and also on on your spouse & marraige. His Retro status from 4th Oct will complicate matters further.
Please take remedial actions.

I am talking about Jupiter only and not any other planets. If he is Retro, he will give erratic results, good or bad. Full effect, good or bad will be felt when he becomes direct.

My reply is confined to Jupiter transit results only without going into other details which may give contrary results.
1. LL & 4th Lord going to 6th House is not a good sign.
2. Current transit Jupiter is transiting natal Jupiter.
3. In transit Jupiter is in 6th position which is not favourable.
4.Health /enemy/debts concern may be there for you and your mother.
5. At the moment Jupiter is Retro and this further aggravates the situation.
6. Transit Saturn is in good position and is giving some protection.

The problem with the transit analysis is that no one looks at Vedha or Vipreeta Vedha in transit analysis. Therefore, even this analysis is not accurate. A chart has to be analyzed for transits for, house transit, vedha and vipreeta vedha before coming to favorable and unfavorable results. Otherwise, as per various rishis, this analysis is completely inaccurate and flawed. Hari OM!
The transit analysis is one of the tools for ‘Timing an event’ and its results are dependent on the Dasha & Bhukti currently running for the native. To that extent it may be inaccurate but otherwise its results are quite accurate.
As far as Veda is concerned, it has to be considered and I have mentioned this at point 8 under “Interpretation’.

Jupiter in my birth chart is debilitated and retrograde in 3rd house. My moon sign is Aquarious and Jupiter is transiting the 4th house. I am running Saturn-Venus dasa. Saturn is in the 8th house (gemini) conjunct with Ketu. Venus is in 12th house (Libra). Other planetory positions – Sun in Leo, Mercury in Virgo and Mars in Aries. tula moon lagna and capricorn ascdt. birth time jupiter in 10th house in tula with sun, moon, mercury, retrograde venus. Saturn in aries in 4th house. now jupiter in taurus ie 8th house. causing one of the worst time since may 2012. is this only due to jupiter or also due to sade sati.
Both are causing problems. Slight relief after 31 May 2013 when Jupiter shifts to Gemini.
