Dwadashamsha (D-12)

From this Divisional Chart we can learn about native’s parents and grandparents. This is also called as ‘Suryamsha’ Here each sign is divided into 12 sections of 2°30´each. Any division starts at D-1 Lagna and covers all the 12 signs.

Parashara has assigned certain deities for each divisions

  • 1, 5 and 9 – Ganesha
  • 2, 6 and 10 – Ashwini Kumara
  • 3, 7 and 11 – Yama
  • 4, 8 and 12 – Vasuki

Natural Karakas / Significators

  1. Sun – Father
  2. Moon – Mother
  3. Jupiter – Paternal grand parents
  4. Mercury – Maternal grand parents
  5. Jaimini Pitrukaraka – Father
  6. Jaimini Matrukaraka – Mother
  7. From Lagna or Sun, 9th house – Father
  8. From Lagna or Moon, 4th house – Mother
  9. From Lagna or Sun, 5th house – paternal grandfather
  10. From Lagna or Sun, 12thhouse – paternal grandmother
  11. From Lagna or Moon 7th house – maternal grandfather
  12. From Lagna or Moon 12th house – maternal grandmother

Analysis and Results

  1. If Lagna Lord is strong and associated with benefics, the native will lucky, wealthy, prosper in life and will have a devoted wife.
  2. If Lagna Lord is weak and associated with malefics, the native will face lot of hardships in life.
  3. 7th Lord with Benefics gives good wife and progeny and native’s relationship with relatives from mother’s side will be cordial
  4. Lagna / Lagna Lord of D-12 going to different houses in D-1 will give following results:
  • Lagna – Native will be wealthy, will prosper like his father.
  • 6/8/12 – Will not receive any help from his father
  • Debilitated / with malefics – Bad results, fear from fire / thieves / authority
  • 11th house – inherit ancestral wealth, will prosper
  • Exalted / with benefics – native, parents, all will be lucky and native will receive all support from parents.
  1. If Jaimini Chara karakas like Pitru Karaka / Matru Karakas have association with Atma Karaka, native will enjoy ‘Raja Yoga’ from his parents and will prosper in life.
  2. For 5th, 7th and 12th houses (which represents grandparents), 2nd and 7th house will become Maraka Sthanas. During Dasha / Bhukti of these Lords, death may occur of grandparents.
  3. Additional information can be obtained from different houses as follows:
  • Lagna – Native’s mentality towards his parents and also the type of influence the parents have on the native. It also gives information on surroundings at the time of native’s birth.
  • Aruda Lagna – How others view / treat native and his family
  • 2nd house – Childhood days
  • 12th house – family situation at the time of native’s birth.
  • 3rd & 11th houses – Natives relationship with his co-borns alongside his parental love and care
  • 6th house – Debt inherited from father.
  • 11th house – gains after marriage
  • 8th house – ancestral inheritance and legacies / debts
  • 10th house – career skills

Dwadashamsha and Longevity

8th Lord of D-1 going to different Dwadashamsha will give the following results: 

  1. 18th year – danger from water
  2. 9th year – danger from snakes
  3. 10th year – danger from fever
  4. 32nd year – TB
  5. 20th year – Blood infection
  6. 22nd year – danger from fire
  7. 28th year – Pleurisy
  8. 30th year – danger from wild animals
  9. 32nd year – danger from weapons
  10. 30th year – danger of drowning / fear of stomach ache
  11. 31st year – fear of wife / daughter death by drowning
  12. 29th year – danger from vehicles

Determination of Longevity by Dwadashamsha

The following table gives the longevity of the native depending upon where the 8th Lord of D-1 has gone in D-12.

Note:

  3. Dr BV Raman has said that longevity figures obtained by mathematical calculations by Parashara, Astakavarga, Jaimini and other methods are indicative only and are not absolute.

    Thank you so much for your article on D -12. Kindly let me know whether we apply SRI K. N. RAOJI ,s PAC RULES here in divisional charts also.

      PAC / or what we generally call aspects are not be applied in Divisional charts.
      It is applicable only in D-1, Rashi Chart.
