Moorti Nirnaya

MOORTI NIRNAYA

This is another popular method of judging the Transit results mostly used in North India. The method is described below.

  •  Note the Janma Rashi.
  • Choose the planet transit result for which predictions to be made.
  • Note the transit position of the Moon with reference to Natal Moon (Janma Rashi) when the chosen planet enters a new sign.

Name the Moorti as follows:- •

  • If the transit Moon is in 1st, 6th or 11th from Natal Moon – Swarna (Golden) Moorti.
  •  If it is in 2nd, 5th or 9th – Rajata (Silver) Moorti.
  • If it is in 3rd, 7th or 10th – Tamra (Copper) Moorti.
  • If it is in 4th, 8th or 12th – Loha (Iron) Moorti.

The results will be as follows:-

  • Swarna: Extremely favourable
  • Rajata: Favourable
  • Tamra: Average
  • Loha: Extremely unfavourable

Example

  • We are interested in finding the result of Jupiter transit from Virgo to Libra and the native’s Janma Rashi is Aquarius.
  • At the time of Jupiter’s transit, the transit Moon was in Pisces or the second house from Janma Rashi.
  • Being in second will result in Rajata Moorti and hence the Jupiter transit will be favourable to the native.

Some people are saying that Swarna Moorthy is adverse for Saturn. Is it logical or fear-mongering?

    • Jyothishi February 25, 2015 at 11:36 #

It is bunkum. Do not believe it.

Thanks ….. I was guessing as much …… people want to instill such a fear of Shani (why should Moorthy Nirnaya rules differ from Brihaspati to Shani) that they end up discrediting this science. I still consider this to be an expert system with combinatorial rules giving good results. Example in point is Bhavarth Ratnakar

why not from a distance of 6 houses be swarna, taking into account that the house 6 is an evil house?

    • Jyothishi February 28, 2015 at 18:05 #

This system is a separate one from normal transit results obtained as given in BPHS or Phaladeepika.
You have to make up your mind whether to follow Moorti Nirnaya or Phaladeepika.

Secondly the 6 you are referring to is a number and not a house. This is a number obtained from counting from your Janma Nakshatra to obtain the result of any other planet transiting from one House to another.

Please cast your horoscope, then calculate as per example in the chart.
      You will get your Moorthi.

Please do not ask me to do this simple thing!! You say you are running
Sade Sathe and you do not know which phase? Strange!!

About Moorti nirnaya, please clarify that if the Jupiter transit is favourable, will it give good results for all the 12months? If Mars is favourable, will it give good results for all the 3months?

Firstly, remember these two methods namely, Parashara /Phaldeepika method(Jupiter is good in 2, 5, 7, 9 and 11)
and Moorti NirnayaMetod are totally different. You have to make a choice whether to use first method or second method.
Both should not be followed simultaneously for it may give contradictory results. For example, by Parashara method
Jupiter in 2nd is good and by Moorti Nirnaya it may give Loha Moorti. Moorti Nirnaya is mainly used in North India.
If by Moorti Nirnaya you get any Moorti, it will be valid till that planet stays in that Rashi, be it Jupiter or Mars.

Is all planets transit such as jupiter, venus, mercurry saturn depends on transit of Moon from natal moon for deciding, moorti nirnaya.? Or respective planets
transit from their natal position. Please clarify

    • Jyothishi May 7, 2018 at 12:42 #

Your wording of the question is wrong.

Transit results for All Planets such as Jupiter, Venus, Mercury is dependent on
the placement of Moon on the days of their transit
Example, if Venus transits for Aries to Taurus and on that day Moon is in 6th position from natal Moon,
the Moorti will be Swarna Moorti and will give extremely good results.

    • Jyothishi November 3, 2019 at 21:30 #

It is such a simple thing, find out where the Moon is on 05 Nov 2019. Calculate from Pisces and get the Moorti.

Is there any exception to this rule if the planet is in retro motion while changing sign?

    • Jyothishi September 15, 2021 at 11:59 #

      No change, same rule applies.

    Respected sir
As per your experience in astrology by using
Which ayanamsha we are getting accurate dasha phala.
Is it Lahari / kp Raman ayanamsha.

    Regards sir
    T.SIVASUBRAMANYAM

    • Jyothishi January 13, 2023 at 19:41 #

All Ayanamshas are good but its is individual choice. Universally people use Lahari Ayanamsha and apparently they are satisfied. But one thing, if you choose one , stick to that throughout your career. KP is for people following KP sysytem. I personally use Lahari and am completely satisfied.

If the reference is taken of natal moon to transit moon then, i think, the effect (swarna / rajat…) will be applicable to how the native’s mind perceives the planet transit is giving result rather that the actual results. Is this a correct supposition ?

    • Jyothishi November 23, 2023 at 14:03 #

No, whatever is the result, say Exremely favourable, favourable , average and bad, they will happen in all spheres of that Planet Lordship.
If the planet is 10th Lord. your profession will be affected accordingly.
